The artists here don't make studios out of old warehouses like
they do in London, here they build them from scratch. The buildings
look like a cross between Brookside Close and Auschwitz, they are
very strange, but inside they are massive and it feels like a luxury
to be able to work in such a vast space for a month.
I don't think privacy exists as a concept in China. Everyone eats
in big groups, they never close the doors in the toilets, they have
massive arguments on the streets, they stare at you, and they seem
a lot less reserved in conversation than the English do.
